The Town maintains a four person  Highway Department assisted by contractors for paving, large scale highway jobs, landscaping and snowplowing operations.

The Highway Department crew is involved in many different projects during the year. Some of the yearly duties include:

Winter work:  Keep snow picked up downtown, sidewalks and parking lots plowed and sanded.

Spring work:  Clean up of sand on sidewalks and streets. Keep catch basins and culverts clear to avoid street flooding.

Summer work:  Prepare roads for paving.

Fall work:  Tree work and brush cutting in the fall.
